Football Cookies?

I found this great recipe for cinnamon football cookies! They're like little cinnamon cookies shaped like a football with white frosting! YUM! Here's the recipe;

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups Gold Medal all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
24 whole blanched almonds

Easy Decorating Glaze:
1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 1/2 to 3 teaspoons water

Heat oven to 350 F.

Mix brown sugar, butter and vanilla in large bowl. Work in flour, cinnamon and salt until dough holds together.

Shape dough by scant tablespoonfuls around almonds to form football shapes. Place about 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until set but not brown. Remove from cookie sheet. Cool completely.

Mix powdered sugar and just enough water to make paste that can be piped from decorating bag. Place in decorating bag filled with writing tip #3. Pipe football laces on cookies.

What better treat to have at a Super Bowl party?

I'm going to cook them later tomorrow.

Success!

The Cookies were PERFECT! My whole family agrees that they're the best Peanut Butter cookies EVER! I sprinkled some powdered sugar on them right after they came out of the oven, and I think that it made them better.

The preparation took about 20 minutes, so that was unexpected. I recommend that if you make them for a party, you should prepare the dough the morning of or night before. They only take about 10 minutes to bake, so you can serve them fresh!

Who Doesn't Love Cookies?

This blog is meant for people to share cookie recipes with one another. I am going to continuously try different recipes online and rate them and post the recipe. Here's tonight's recipe;

Peanut Butter Cookies
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
3 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
sugar
Hershey's kisses, if desired
-Cream together butter, sugars, eggs, peanut butter, and vanilla. In a separate bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, and salt; add to creamed mixture and beat together. Roll dough into balls and dip/roll in sugar. Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 375 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes. If desired, place a Hershey's kiss on top while still warm.

Sounds delicious, huh? Wish me luck!
